
Our Immuno-oncology services include Activated Enhanced T-cell therapy, Adoptive T-cell therapy and NK cell therapy. These approaches are designed to harness the body’s natural immune defenses to generate strong, tumor-specific immune response against cancer cells and kill them.
We at DiponEd isolate and expand the T cells from peripheral blood. The T cells are then reengineered in our laboratory to produce genetically engineered chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) on their surface, which allow the T cells to recognize an antigen on targeted tumor cells. These genetically modified T cells are grown in our facility for its ‘expansion’ until hundreds of millions of the modified T cells are available.
Through an intravenous infusion, patients receive these T cells, which possess the ability to attack and kill the cancerous cells. These cells may remain in the body long post infusion and may continue to guard against cancer recurrence. There is generally little or no risk of toxicity as the active ingredient is patient’s own white blood cells.
Adoptive T-cell therapy strategies have largely focused on the infusion of tumor antigen-specific cytotoxic T cells (CTL) which can directly kill tumor cells.
At DiponEd, we follow novel methods for the isolation and ex-vivo enrichment and expansion of tumor-specific T cells from tumor biopsy samples. The tumor-specific T cells are then infused in to cancer patients with a goal to give their immune system the ability to overwhelm remaining tumors via T cells which can attack and kill cancer.
Natural Killer (NK) cells are cells of lymphoid origin that play key roles in eliminating host viral infections as well as the development of tumor cells. NK cells are especially important because cancer cells with missing MHC I markers can be detected and destroyed by NK cells.
Our activated and engineered Natural Killer (NK) platform has the ability to destroy cancer and virally infected cells from the body. Using our proprietary manufacturing and distribution processes, NK cells are grown uniquely that selectively target and kill the diseased cells.
Normal Human Bone Marrow-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells (hMSC) have been reported to differentiate down to many different lineages including chondrogenic, osteogenic, adipogenic and neural precursor cells. Many clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of MSC infusion for diseases including acute myocardial ischemia (AMI), stroke, liver cirrhosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and GVHD.
DiponEd BioIntelligence offers a large scale expansion of allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells from cord blood or bone marrow. Our mesenchymal stem cells are derived from human umbilical cord tissue/bone marrow aspirates from qualified, donors. The isolated cells are cultured and expanded in compliance with GMP manufacturing standards in our cell culture lab. We follow all the safety procedures and guidelines in handling all the cell lineages from tissue isolation to preservation and culturing. Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells (hMSC) are isolated and cryopreserved in the second passage to ensure the highest viability and plating efficiency.
At DiponEd, we isolate the primary human epidermal melanocytes from lightly pigmented tissue, culture in GLP/GMP compliant cell culture lab and are cryopreserved. Upon thawing, our cultured cells are guaranteed to be of >70% viability. Melanocyte cell cultures are optimized to synthesize melanocyte cells which can be used for the treatment of vitiligo. No risk of side effects is associated with it as the epidermal grafts are obtained from patient’s own skin.
