DR.SARMISTHA DEB

Chief Scientific Officer, DiponEDBioIntelligence

Lead contract research division which provides biotransformation,in vitro drug metabolism, in vitro biology and in vitro toxicology supports to CROs, pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical companies and academic institutions.

She has vast experiences (~10 years) in drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, metabolite identification of new chemical entities, high resolution mass spectrometry, in vitro metabolism, enzyme kinetics and reversible/irreversible inhibition assays. She is highly experienced in leading DMPK drug discovery projects starting from synthesis to regulatory submission, experienced in leading drug discoveryteams in lead optimization, experienced in providing biotransformation and DMPK support to multiple programs across therapeutic areas in addition to leading multiple drug discovery projects.

Before joining DiponED she worked for Biocon Bristol-Myers Squibb Research Centre from 2008 to 2016 in DMPK department where she worked as Principal Research Investigator and lead several drug discovery projects, lead team in biotransformation and drug metabolism to support in-house and global drug discovery projects. Additionally lead DMPK teams to support in-house and global drug discovery programs in multiple therapeutic areas. In addition to that pursuing innovative research projects which lead to poster or peer reviewed publications. Work as a team leader or member.

Dr. Vanitha K.P.Ph.D in Biotechnology/Microbiology at Department of Biotechnology, Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology, Davangere under Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka.I had 12 years of experience with respect to industry, teaching and research in different reputed Institutions/Organizations as a Microbiologist, Research associate(@ Kumar organic products limited, Bangalore), Principal investigator (@ DST-WOS-A SCHEME (women scientist) and Asst. Professor (BIET Davangere).

During PHD published three international papers and applied research work for patent and organized three workshops and attended ten national & international conferences. Major expertize in research was Isolation & Identification of cellulose producing microorganisms, fermentative production of microbial cellulose, hyaluronic acid and polysaccharides research and development.
I isolated bacterial strain RV39 from rotten sweet lime which was identified by complete sequencing of 16SrRNA and it found to be Komagataeibacterhansenii RV39.The strain was deposited at MTCC [MICROBIAL TYPE CULTURE CONNECTION CENTRE] Chandigarh, India a depository recognized under the Budapest Treaty and has been accorded the deposit number MTCC 25039.
Presently working has a Senior Scientific Manager – Regulatory & Research at DiponEd BioIntelligence LLP, Bangalore and taking care of stem cell processing, regulatory, research, Platelet rich plasma product promotion with respect to skin, hair, IVF and dental etc…
